If I remember correctly wasn't there a incentive for running a Lund boat with Mercury motor and Optima batteries on the PWT regional series this year? Who won this challange? Cannot find any info on the PWT website. Any results out there.

Jay Weber won the challenge. In return, he is fishing the Super Pro Series in 2007 and gets his entry fees paid.

That's not official yet, as there were several Pros in contention and all need to offer proof of meeting all requirements. Jim Kalkofen said today they expect to make an official announcement very soon.

I spoke with Mr. Kalkofen again this afternoon. The PWT expects to make the announcement today or tomorrow who won this portion of the overall competition.

Contrary to what has been claimed elsewhere, only those who have the qulaifications and prove that process out are in contention for this award. Entry fees will be paid for the Winner accompanied with an invitation to the 2007 PWT Super Pro Tournament Circuit. This incentive was offered by Lund Boats, Optima Batteries, and Mercury Marine as a special program for the select group anglers who chose to run the sponsor's products all four events of the PWT Regionals.

Here's the press release link.

As a side bar, this program's promotion is not a bit 'strange' nor will the results be 'pick and choose'. In reality, it's a great opportunity for the anglers who participated sponsored by three industry powerhouses.

Any word yet? I know it was a holiday weekend, so it might be too soon to ask.

I would also like to know. Kevin Madigan was stated as the leader after Mobridge even though Mr. Weber was ahead of him at the time. All qualifiers for this award had to pre register before the season started Mr. Weber did not and when told he had won was very very surprised.

I for one am very disapointed how the PWT is handling this issue. It is cut and dry!! Mr. Madigan won this award!!!

I'm sure the PWT will go with the rules and requirements set by the Sponsors who are offering this award. From what I understand, this award is just that, a special award three sponsors are offering. Jammer, give Mr. Kalkofen a call, I'm sure he'd be happy to talk this over with you.
