Hey guys I was just wondering if you would know about the problem I have. My located turns on, and then after 10 seconds or so it says GPS Module not responding. I have checked the connection to the locater, checked the fuse, and checked the connection to the battery. Everything looks good. I am assuming that the GPS unit is broken, but how do I know? Should I bring it into where I bought it? Thanks for the help!

Typically that means the puck is bad. You'll probably have to call Eagle. I think they'll send you a replacement for like $80.00 after you send yours in, unless you're still covered under warranty.

Those pucks have been known to just go out like that. Install the replacement puck and it should be as good as new. You can also try hooking your unit up to somebody elses puck to make sure that is the problem. I think most of the newer Eagle units use the same puck.

Good Luck

As Rookie said, I would try to connect your unit to a friends boat that you know is working.

The same thing happened to mine. I replaced the antenna unit and it works great!

I would check to make sure the unit is getting enough power. I have a lowrance and if it doesn't get 12 volts I get the same message. My book says it needs 12 volts or more or the gps will not function. I would check the wires again, then go to the status page under the pages menu where it should tell you how many volts it is getting. I would think the eagle works the same way as the lowrance. When mine did it I just had some loose wires.

I just got my Lowrance back from the factory for the same problem... they sent me a new unit in the box with all the extras so if anyone needs connection wires or an antenna extension, give me a whistle.
