[quote="Joe Kellar"]I know your saying this isnt a fishing related but after fishing this weekend and the trusty old jeerzy gloves couldnt put up with the cold

What do you guys use to keep your fingers warm during the cold fall days or winter days on the ice?

Going to redwing in a few weeks and if my hands get as cold as they did this past weekend fishing will not be fun in a way as i lost my grip and everything

would like something that is warm enough but not really big and bulky to were you cant doing anything with them on

Joe.

Staying warm and comfortable is alway an issue when fishing. Two items that have kept me warm fishing in all conditions these last 15 years, are Wool Military glove liners and Military Balaclava Head liners. Both keep you warm even when wet.

The gloves give you 100% freedom and do not deaden the feel of light bites telegraphed through the rod butt of your fishing rods like other heavier gloves tend to do. And you can still wear your favorite baseball cap over the balaclava head liner to protect your eyes from rain, snow or sun if you wish to do so.

Both are also cheap items and together will cost you less than neoprene anything will. You can buy them in the Sportsmans Guide catalog or on-line at their site. Heres the link to both items and a picture of yours truly modeling both items on one cold/wet and miserable (yet productive) day.

Same here, use the wool liners to keep the mitts from freezing.n Cotton over the wool if she's really nasty but not wet. I buy quite a bit from the Guide!
