Member Posts: 185 Location: Port Washington, wisconsin | I'd check their website first, technical support if that's what you need. At least check out if they will hit you with a fee for phone call support. Pain, pain, oh the pain.

Member Posts: 625 Location: LaCrosse, WI | Coot, Unfortunately Symantec is very very hard to get ahold of over the phone. I think you have to fill out the form after you click the Phone support button to create a phone ticket. I think the site looks for keywords to re-direct you back to the FAQ's. As far as I know filling out the online ticket form is the only way to get ahold of them. Marshall

Member Posts: 794 Location: Elgin, Illinois | My advice (and I am serious) is to uninstall any symantec product you have and get something else... (antivirus... lots of choices out there that I think are better)... Feel free to contact me in a PM and I'll help you out...

I know your frustration trying to deal with Symantec... here's what I did and I've never been happier! I have 5 computers that I have had Symantec Norton anti-virus on for the past 7 years..... I got sick of paying $300 a year for the subscriptions and the horrible customer service as well as a product that did not always work. Last year, I was about to renew my subscription when I heard a program on WI public radio where an expert takes calls. He recommended AVG Anti-virus. It free and it works extremely well. I have used it for the last year on every one of my systems and it works flawlessly. It is as foolproof as any software can be. It updates its files every time you start in about 10 seconds and is a full version, fully working anti-virus software. It is not shareware, and it does what it is supposed to do... protect your computer. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great anti-virus software that is totally free. Like I said, I have it on all 5 of my machines here at work and I would not take any chances with our systems. If you have any questions, let me know, I'd be glad to help. I know how much a pain in the ass anti-virus software and Symantec can be. Here's the direct link http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5#avg-anti... Just hit the run when it comes up and follow the instructions, it will automatically scan your system on install. Dominic Here is the direct shortcut to the install. Everyone who knows me knows I would never play any games of mislead anyone... http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup/avg75free_430a848.exe
