Location: Manitowoc, WI | Ladies and Gentlemen, this was my first year of tournament fishing and I am planning on having an appreciation party for my sponsors. I plan on having food and drink and will make sure I recognize all my sponsors at the party. Are there any other traditional things I might want to include in this endeavor? Just looking for any other ideas that will ensure my sponsors get the recognition they deserve besides working for them all year long. Thanks in advance for any advice on this matter. |

Location: Orland Park, IL | Wow, appreciation party is pretty nice. Though not sure if it hits the mark. I may b e off on this, though.
Sponsors sponsor because, I think, of the promotion aspect. A quick bio of tournaments fished, sponsor position and potential value, as well as long term value, goes a long way.
Consider this. Will they responsor you because you had a smokin appreciation party? Not sure. |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | I guess I should have mentioned that most of my sponsors are mom and pop businesses. No big names for this rookie. Just thought of this get together as another means of saying thank you and promoting them in front of everybody present. If this idea is going to cause any hard feelings or is not appropriate for this site, please nuke it Steve. Thanks for your reply M_Komo. |

Location: Elgin, Illinois | Uhhhh Steve... You pick up the tab for my tournament fishing and I'll buy you dinner and drinks anywhere in the state for three days running!!!! As a matter of fact, I'll throw in rooms...
But, I do think that your idea is a very nice gesture of appreciation. |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Thanks for the kind words Steve! I've got room for a couple more sponsors. Don't want to go over 10 in order to be able to do some promotional stuff for each of them. Don't want to overload myself. That wouldn't be fair for the sponsors. And by the way Steve, I would be more than happy with your attendance. |

| remember to give them the gift of a guided trip. make sure the bite is good and they can bring a guest. a nice photo on these trips with a nice fish would be great in the loby . make sure it is cropped and framed and your guest on the water looks great in it. you can do some cool stuff with photo shpos or have somone do it for you .. try to come up with idias for next year to create ways that your sponsor can see a return on his investment. remember the sponsors spouse . with small buisness many times there is a brother or wife that also has an impact on butget for next year. many people sponser the brewers and buy season tickets. many of the sponsors give there tickets away to reward employees or clients or charities. make sure they know you will take any guest even if they dont have the time to go with you themselves. oh get a guide licence and insurance the liabuility. |
