I know this subject has probably come up before but- Could someone explain to me, or tell me where to go to find information on the old and the new thundersticks. I understand the older ones where probably the best, and that's all I understand about them! Also would like to know about the different model numbers, sizes, colors, etc.

I would appreciate it if someone would take the time to explain this to me and to others out there!

Thank you in advance, and Happy Holidays!

check out the precision trolling book ("the trolling bible"), it has the dive curves for thundersticks and several other crankbaits. hope this helps.

The old Thundersticks where built by Storm Lures. They came in Junior Size and Standard Size - either offering shallow or deep running. They where very popular, and easy to tune, if neeeded. Great colors, good action. Storm sold out to Rapala. Many woudl say the quality of the popular Thundersticks as offered by Rapala leaves much to be desired.

The original Storm Lure Company ownership has come back as KaBoom. A growing and popular bait. Doing some innovative things.

Good Luck

Here is a great website that assist you in what you are looking for www.oldstormlures.com I will tell you that recently I sold off many of my older thundersticks and now using more and more Kaboom Dave's shinners in diving and shallow runners and looking foreward in experencing the Balsa that are new to the product line up this year.

Not entirely true.

David Storm, one of the original Storm Lures owners sun's has not re-aquired Storm Lures, but has started a new lure company on his own called Dave's Ka'Boom Lures.

Dave's Kaboom Lures are an excellent lure. If you have not tried them, give them a try. Can't wait to try the new Ruff Guy this upcoming year

I know many of you collect the old Storm Lures. I have a fairly large collection that I am willing to part with. Email me if you are interested and let me know what colors you are looking for.

I have GREAT faith in the NEW Dave KABOOM lures. I will be using these lures instead of the old Storm lures this coming season.

The Ka' Booms are working out great in my neck of the woods as well. And I truly believe its because of a few things. The Winning Streaks are in my eyes (and I know Dave probably won't like the comaprison) the good looking (twice removed) available cousin of the Hot-N-Tot. Its overall size is a little bigger than the 1/4 ounce tot, yet smaller/more steam lined than the Rattle Tot. Combine that with the great colors and the internal smaller BB's for the rattle, and its a fine/American built product that catches fish. And I'm also excited about, and anticipating the new Jointed Mean Streaks and Balsa Ruff Guys hitting the scene this year.

Just a heads up on the Ruff Guys and Goodie Minnows. I was able to get my hands on some of the protos at the PWT Championship. Both these lures are great and I can't wait to be able to use them regularly. Great action, and the Ruff Guy caught the biggest fish of the last day for me.

Chase,

Any idea where Dave got the name for the Ruff Guy from? I think he named it after his favorite pro staffer....:)

Thank you to everyone for all the info. Just one more thing-Are the blue label "Original Series" the exact lures, as the ones that came out first?

"ORIGINAL SERIES" are the new Rapala made lures. For a look at the old Storm Thunderstick colors, numbers and models they were made in. Here is a webiste that shows the old Storm information:

Sorry Jayman,

If you look at the dates, this thread is a year old. Lures are long gone.

FYI, I believe this is actually a well hidden spam for the website. I believe that Dan picked it up immediately. Am I right Dan?
