I was out Wednesday from 1-4:30. Fished in 14.5' along a transition from gravel to mud. Bite was very slow and very timid, but nicer fish. A few perch, 8.5"-11", all on Rosie Reds, all came from under a bobber, jigging scared them away. Ice was only 5"-6" but was solid.

Heading out tomorrow morning. I haven't bought minnows in a awhile, but last time I did I couldn't find any fatheads. Do the baitshops in the area have them now? Are the new restrictions the problem?

I've only seen the Rosie Red phase fatheads, but one place where I buy bait is an Express station and the other is liquor store. Fox River Bait or Tew's usually have a better selection but I haven't been to either place in a while.

Was out in front of the Neenah Pool from 6:30-8:30 this morning. Tried depths from 3'-7'. Quite a few of little perch on waxies in 4.5'. Nothing close to a keeper. The bite was better before sunrise.

Fished Butte des Morts this morning. 2 nice crappie and 2 perch. You gotta get there early, had all our fish before the sun was up.

It happened to me and I heard from several others that were out this morning that the bite died at sunrise. The water is very clear right now on Bago.

Getting out early pays off. I got a little action and I got a short look at a beautiful sunrise this morning before the clouds wrecked it.
