| Before I purchased a 1850 reata last fall, I test drove a buddies Reata 1850, skeeter 1880, and a tuffy 1890. The Tuffy IMO, was the better big water boat, close behind was the reata, and the skeeter I did not care for. The Tuffy was over $6,000 more than the Reata, so I went with the Ranger. |

The Reata is a nice boat if you want something slanted more toward the pleasure boat that fishing boat side of things, sounds like you found the perfect boat for you.
However, when comparing pricing to other boats, like the Tuffy 1890 for example, keep in mind that among other things the Reata is rated for less horsepower, comes with a single axle trailer, a basic electrical system, and depending upon horsepower, may not be equipped with hydraulic steering, all of which equate to a many dollars when comparing to other boats. |
