Do you fellas know of any place that repairs Diawa linecounters (bushings, etc.) in the FDL or Oshkosh area? I have (6) of them that are over ten years old and are ready for an overhaul this winter.

I know Schumacher's in Oshkosh will repair them, but I don't know much about his business or quality of work.

His number is 920 231 7658

Ritch, you can drop off reels at Gander MTN. They go to Schumacher for repair but it saves ya the drive.

I have sent reels in the past direct to Daiwa, they are great and never a charge. Some of the reels were 10 year old spinning reels.

Guys,

I box my Diawas up and send them to Tuna Tom in Ludington MI (231-690-0060) Well worth the time/expense. The reels come back better than new.

I just got (6) line counters back from Diawa that I had sent in for repair/reconditioning. Including shipping, the total was $104. They replaced one broken clicker, all drags, new 'glass' windows over the counters, and they even buffed out the scratches on the gold side plates. They really do feel and look like new. (No more slop or play in the handles) It was well worth the $$ to me, (they were 10 year old reels) It took about three weeks from the day I shipped them out to the day they were back.

steve b,

Daiwa Corporation Service Center
12851 Midway Place
Cerritos, CA 90703
(562) 802-9589

I wrapped each reel in newspaper with a note attached saying that I wanted them refurbished, and details such as bad clicker, bad counter, etc. Boxed them up and shipped to the above address. About a week later, they sent a detailed report on how much it would cost for each reel. I had to approve, and either send them a check or credit card number before they would proceed with repairs.
As I stated, very pleased with the outcome.
Any other questions, give them a call.
