Location: Rhinelander | The top ten left at 7AM under clear skies and NO wind, a true treat when compared to the last few days. Temperatures were at 29 degrees at dawn, and have risen only into the thirties mid morning as a storm approaches from the South. The bite seemed to be slow and steady. Two of the boats had three fish mid morning, including Dustin Kjelden who appears to have taken a few in the river and headed for the big water early. Mark Meravy and his Co Angler boated two while we were shooting video this morning. Thanks to Team G3 for getting me out on the water this morning! Weigh in will be at about 3 PM Central at the Wal Mart on Allen Street. Stay with WalleyeFIRST for the final day coverage of the Detroit River FLW! Member Posts: 2567 Location: Manitowoc, WI | sworrall, Today's wild card is the lake. Three days after the big East blow, will the chocolate milk clear up in time for someone to show what she can deliver???? If the lake goes it's anyone's game, as it consistently was putting out 25-45 lb limits in short order, depending on which schools of fish one was on. | ||

Location: Rhinelander | Mark Meravy had a plan this morning. We talked about that plan during a morning interview while waiting for the competition to begin; Mark said he was going to jig, and was staying in the river for the win. The plan worked. Mark and Co Angler Don Cozzie brought 24 pounds 8 ounces to the scale for the win, edging hard charging Dustin Kjelden and Paul Doute Jr. by 2 pounds 5 ounces. Scott Fairbairn headed north to limit out and bring the largest bag of the day to the scales at 25 Pounds 14 ounces. Scott and his Co Angler Michael Eichbrecht saw the clearer water and decided to head north to even clearer water, scoring a solid third place finish with his Final Day weight. We dodged a major bullet here as a HUGE storm passed just miles to the south. Watch tonight for a Video and Image Gallery wrap up of the FLW Detroit River event.
