Location: Rhinelander | The fish are moving fast right now according to many of the Pros, so the 'run and gun' was a portion of many Day One game plans. Most of the better limits coming to the stage were comprised of Saugers, with at least one kicker 'eye. General consensus is that the REALLY Big Walleye bite will turn on sometime during the next couple days. A few limits of big 'eyes could change the leader board dramatically, tumbling top ten and rocketing others from in the middle to the top.
A mix of handlining, jigging, and trolling cranks on the river and lake brought the fish to the scales, with many of the Pros commenting on the ability to find and catch fish using several patterns and techniques.
Jason Przekurat leads the field with 23.75, followed by Dustin Kjelden with 20.81.Ken Schoenecker is just a bit out of second with 19.31.
Watch for Day two morning coverage to begin about 8 AM tomorrow, right here at WalleyeFIRST!
