Beautiful Sunshining Day, Perch still act" LAST EDITED ON 05-04-07 AT 11:47 AM (CST) Sunny, blue skies, east and south winds and temps. running middle to upper 60's right now overlooking the Lakeshore view. Numerous boats out again this morning on the water catching Perch yet and some nice ones, we are having a meal of fish for lunch today! Water surface over the 50' mark now and seeing probably almost the end of the Walleye spawn. Still some fish working the river mouths and some late spawners but for sure will be done for the May 15th. Opener. We'll keep you posted into the upcoming week weather wise and what to expect for that May 15th. Opener. Perch still pretty actively biting wigglers and small minnows fished again with Perch Rigs and single slip-float rigs. Concentrate your fishing close and within several feet of the lake floor. Hay Perch fisherman, it's still not too late to fishing the The Bay de Noc Great Lakes Sportfishermen, Inc. Perch Derby Saturday May 5th, 2007. YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE GREAT LAKES SPORTFISHERMEN, INC. which is a great organization to join. The Gladstone Harbor will be the Tournament Location start and from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. the tournament runs. Prizes for the biggest perch and best average catch will be awarded. Only 5 fish per angler will be weighed in. Cost is $20 for adults and kids under 16 $10 dollars. You must be a member of BdNGLSF to enter. This should be a great opportunity for families to get out and enjoy a day on the bay. There will also be door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. Bring the kids down and have a good time!!!
