This past weekend our LCX-!*C dies on us and we have to replace it. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between LGW-12 GPS module and the LGC-3000 that comes with the new units. It is a real pain to run the new module and would like to just use the one already on the boat if possible.

The LGC-12W is not a Lowrancenet(NMEA 2000) compatible receiver. Pretty sure it won't work.

the new ones both blue plug and red plug(lgc-3000) require power for them to work. They will not just run off of the head unit power. The power/data cable included with a new unit has an extra red/black/shield power wire that needs to be connected to a 12 volt power source. I usede to have an lcx-15mt and that antenna will not work with the new units. It is not a pain to run the new units. I think my new ones lock on faster than the lgc-12. They will lock on in my garage in less than a minute. What unit did you have before?

I think he is saying it is a pain to run the cable to the receiver.

Thanks guys. Shep is right I just did not want to run the cable. I figured I could not get away with the old module. I had a LCX18C. Think I will end up going with the 27C now. It was the weirdest thing Saturday coming in off of Lake Erie I hit a wave and it blinked out and will not come back on. Checked power all the way to where it gets solidered into the circuit board and I have 12 volts all the way to there. Guess it will bo off to Cabelas this weekend.
