Hey all,
Looks like it will be a close call
this year, the lakes up here could
still have ice for the opener.
Vermilion still has well over 30" of ice with highs below normal and cold nights in the forcast.

I may have to venture to the south for the first time in many years.
The St.Louis river(Duluth area) is a good option for you rangers that face hard water, on your favorite walleye lake.

I haven't fished it in years, but I have talked to some guides in the area. They tell me numbers are up and it is very seldome crowded.
There are some special regs, so you'll want to check them out, if you do decide to go there.

Hey Guideman,
How do things look now that we are supposed to have the very warm temps the net week or so? Rhinelander had 7" of snow last week, now it is totally gone and the ice is going pretty fast.
