Location: Rhinelander | The skies were more friendly and the winds ideal this morning as 116 boats headed out on the Big Water of Bays De Noc. It's calmed a bit since the launch, but there is at least a breeze out there. Interesting dichotomy; the wind is both a serious enemy and a valuable friend on this water; not enough and the bite dies, too much and equipment and anglers can be severely beat up. It appears most of the field isn't traveling as far as the last event here on the Bays. Right now it's 61 degrees with North winds at 3. The wind is forecast to move to South East at 5, with possible gusts to 14. The rain missed us, and appears for the most part to be moving across the lake well to the south. Watch for the WalleyeFIRST Live Leaderboard to fire up about 4 PM Central. The image gallery and video from this morning will be up soon. Location: Rhinelander | Skies are still mostly cloudy and winds are light to moderate, so there will be a chop out there with less light penetration. The baskets could be significantly heavier today!

Member Posts: 2445 Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | steve I agree, there are some very good fish to be caught and it sounds like conditions are damn near perfect. Which direction is it blowing from?

Location: Rhinelander | The weather was better for some and worse for others as the winds switched to East and then South today and the skies went from cloudy to clear and sunny. A few really great limits caused some movement on the Leaderboard, as day one leader John Schneider slipped to sixth despite a good bag of over 15 pounds. Greg Yarbrough brought the event's top basket to the scale today at 25.25 pounds, taking over first by about 7 pounds. Bill Hall scored over 21 today to take over second, and Chief Papineau took third with almost 21 pounds. Barry Walker and Scott Glorvigen scoed 18 pounds each to hold 4th and 5th. Here are the Day Two standings: http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/leaderboard/llb.asp?t=661 Watch for the morning coverage to begin about 8 AM tomorrow for Day Three/Final Day of the 2007 Escanaba PWT on Bays De Noc.
