Word up and down the river is that guys are catching post spawn walleyes here and there. What do you do, and where do you go when the spawn is done?
I remember reading years ago that females will simply float and coast down current and 'set up' when they feel like it. Males, on the other hand, are like typical guys. They start feeding immediately. Waht is your experience when it come to looking for post spawn fish.
No, I don't want you to get specific, just looking for opinions.
Personally, I start trolling cranks more and 3-ways less. I also start to hit wingdams when the flow is right.
What do you do?

I think the big girls go deep to rest and move only to eat something really easy. The males go on and act as if nothing happened, light up a smoke, grab a beer and relax. Post spawn means, deep eddies and wingdams to me.3 ways for the girls[deeper] a cranks for the males chaseing minnows on the sand flats close to backwater areas. Just my opnion anyway. John

Hi Beaver ! Post spawn pushes me to the wing dams. I figure that the girls need a break and they go to the deep slack water eddies and find themselves an ambush position in the holes in the face of the wing dams ! This is why I love to slip current the wingies. It takes boat control but over the years it has paid off with some real nice fish.
