Traveled through Cedar River today and the parking lot was full of boatless trailers. There wasn't an iceflow in sight and could see the boats out working the shoreline.
The big news here is the ramps are in and now is the time to catch a Trophy Walleye, Splake, and even Brown Trout. If your lucky you might get all 3!
Plus as I sat eating lunch in Cedar River at Butch and Sue's, a Patron was commenting he had talked to the Michigan DNR Surveyor who had shocked the river this last Monday. Said the Walleyes were thick and they had tagged many of them.
Then in a bit of restaurant banter, he claimed the surveyor went down and worked the Menomenee River - along the Michigan-Wisconsin border. Claimed to have caught a walleye they had tagged in Cedar River the day before.
But the twinkle in his eye would make me think 2ce 'bout that one!

| Is the walleye season open in Michigan? I didn't think you could target walleyes this time of year. I suppose if they bite you could photogragh them. The browns are so much fun, I hope I can get there soon. |
