Subject: Minnkota 65 PD/ AP Need Input

I have a Minnkota 65 PD/AP Co-Pilot & Universal Transducer. When I am trolling or drifting in shallow water up to about 15 to 20 ft. the transducer works fine. When I get into deeper water I loose bottom and it starts ranging to 500-1000 fow. This is with my Lowrance X65. I switch my locator to my Lowrance X75 and I have the same problem. I hook them up to my transome transducer and they both work fine. Has anyone else experianced this problem??? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
