Member Posts: 2393 Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | Frabill Nets FLW Outdoors SponsorshipPublished March 13, 2008 MINNEAPOLIS (March 13, 2008) - FLW Outdoors® announced today that Frabill will become an associate sponsor of the world's largest tournament-fishing organization. In addition, Frabill will offer a lucrative contingency program for anglers that compete in the following FLW Outdoors circuits: Wal-Mart™ FLW Tour®, Wal-Mart™ FLW® Series, Stren™ Series, Wal-Mart™ Bass Fishing League, Wal-Mart™ FLW® Walleye Tour, Wal-Mart FLW® Walleye League, Wal-Mart FLW® Redfish Series and Wal-Mart FLW® Striper Series. Frabill's Competition Series nets were designed with both the tournament angler and the fish in mind. All Competition Series nets feature Frabill's exclusive catch-and-release micro-mesh netting. With holes much smaller than conventional netting, fragile fins and gills cannot become entangled and injured. The netting is also knotless, leaving it free of sharp edges that can remove both scales and the fish's protective slime coat. Frabill's Competition Series nets also feature a flat-bottom panel of netting that supports the weight of the entire fish to prevent injuries while thrashing around in the net. The tangle-free performance means that fish can be removed from the net quickly - further lessening the chance of injury. For the FLW Tour, Frabill will award $1,000 to the pro or co-angler who catches the Snickers Big Bass at each qualifying event if the fish was netted using a Frabill Competition Series net. At the $2 million Forrest Wood Cup, Frabill will award an additional $2,000 to the pro or co-angler who catches the Snickers Big Bass if the fish was netted using a Frabill Competition Series net. In FLW Series competition, Frabill will award $500 to the pro or co-angler who catches the Snickers Big Bass at each event if the fish was netted using a Frabill Competition Series net. At the November 2008 FLW Series East-West Fish-Off, Frabill will award an additional $2,000 to the pro or co-angler who catches the Snickers Big Bass if the fish was netted using a Frabill Competition Series net. The rules for Stren Series and BFL competition are the same in makeup as already detailed. Frabill will award $250 for a Stren Series qualifier and $2,000 for the Stren Series Championship while awarding $500 at the eight BFL Regionals and $2,000 for the BFL All-American. For walleye anglers, Frabill will award $1,000 to the team ($500 to the pro and $500 to the co-angler) that catches the heaviest single walleye at each FLW Walleye Tour qualifier. At the FLW Walleye Tour Championship, Frabill will award $2,000 to the team ($1,000 to the pro and $1,000 to the co-angler) that catches the heaviest single walleye of the event. In FLW Walleye League competition, $250 goes to the team ($125 to the boater and $125 to the co-angler) with the heaviest single walleye at each qualifier. At the FLW Walleye League Finals, Frabill will award $2,000 to the team ($1,000 to the boater and $1,000 to the co-angler) that catches the heaviest single walleye of the event. To be eligible, fish must be netted using a Frabill Competition Series net. On the saltwater side, Frabill will award $500 to the team catching the heaviest two-fish stringer at each FLW Redfish Series qualifying event. At the FLW Redfish Series Championship, Frabill will award $2,000 to the team that catches the heaviest two-fish stringer of the event. Frabill will also award $500 to the team that catches the heaviest two-fish stringer in each FLW Striper Series event. Again, to be eligible, fish must be netted using a Frabill Competition Series net. In addition to its contingency program, Frabill will be featured in a variety of media formats, including FLWOutdoors.com, the "FLW Outdoors" television program on FSN and in FLW Outdoors Magazine. "Successful catch-and-release is a critical part of maintaining our fisheries today," said Jeff Kolodzinski, vice president of marketing for Frabill. "We wanted to design a net that would help make anglers more effective, but we weren't willing to cut any corners when it came to protecting the fish. We did extensive research into all the factors that contribute to fish mortality and incorporated all that data into our designs. It took some innovation and quite a few hours of tough field testing by pro anglers, but we were able to create a series of models that are ideally designed to land America's favorite sport fish. No matter what the target species - bass, walleye, striper or redfish - Frabill has a Competition Series landing net that is perfectly suited to land the fish of a lifetime and, perhaps more importantly, see that it will successfully be released to fight another day." Tournament anglers aren't the only ones winning big this season. With the introduction of FLW Fantasy Fishing™, FLW Outdoors offers anyone the opportunity to enter for their chance to land the catch of a lifetime with the opportunity to win $7.3 million in cash and prizes. Players can become a virtual pro angler by signing up for Player's Advantage, providing them with exclusive insider information that could guide them to a $100,000 victory at every Wal-Mart FLW Tour stop and the Forrest Wood Cup.
