Member Posts: 1040 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Day 2, enroute to the final cut of 25, the Lund/Mercury Championship dawned with clouds in the sky but by take-off time, the clouds passed and opened day 2 with clear skies and sun. Ranger/Evinrude pro Mark Courts heads into today with just over a four pound lead over Mark Christianson of Cass Lake, MN. Today's predicted weather had some thinking a chance of a blow day which would then restrict them to only the river but with light winds 5-10 at take-off and winds only supposed to build to 13-20 throughout the day with a possible chance of scattered showers it brought optimism for many today. Watch for images, video interviews with the Pros and more from Day 2. Stay with WalleyeFIRST for accelerated coverage of the PWT Championship! Live coverage this afternoon, stay tuned! Even if the wind gets stronger then predicted out of the West, that would still give them a 2 to 3 mile buffer zone off that West shore and keep the waves down to fishable size almost to the channel. Any further East then that and things could get dicey. I'll be at the weigh-in today hopefully pressing flesh with Zach for the first time and Steve for the second. A close friend of mine died in his sleep Wednesday night, so I missed yesterdays weigh-in. But If you see Me today Merckid, introduce yourself and say hello. Whats up with the newest videos. They play for about 10 secs. and then re-buffer. At that rate I lose interest after 30 secs. | |||

Member Posts: 1382 | The winds definitely were a factor in the overall picture today, as boat control and some of the shallow spots suffered. Overall the bite was still good, and some broad movement on the Leader Board was evident at the end of an accelerated Weigh In. Winds during the weigh in peaked at over 50 MPH as squalls moved through the area, but all the boats were off the water before the worst moved in. Mark Courts held on to first, while Pat Neu made his move into second only a couple pounds back. Keith Kavajecz weighed a respectable basket to take over third, catching his last weigh fish in the last literal minute before heading in. Mark Brumbaugh weighed a 14# plus bag to hold down fifth. Here's the final tally from today: http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/leaderboard/llb.asp?t=761 Watch for Final Day coverage to begin tomorrow morning.
