Member Posts: 1040 Location: Stevens Point, WI | 78 teams will be weighing in, in just under an hour or so. With winds steady at 5-15mph and gusts up to 25 mph, the wind has definitely provided a good walleye chop. Fishing's been tough with water temps varying from low 50's to high 50's pending where your at on Cass.. Stay tuned for a full afternoon report and full imagery later this evening. | ||

With an unusual spring throughout the Midwest, the weather conditions have been less than ideal for anglers pre-fishing this past week on Cass Lake. Cass Lake has always been known for a "rigger/jig" fisherman's bite, and anglers did just that to put fish in the box. Majority of guys were pulling bottom bounces on varying depths from 5 feet to as deep as 58 feet. Fish didn't seem to be favoring any certain particular bait but many were going back and forth with chubs and crawlers looking for a preference. Toby Kvalevog and co-angler Brian Swanson came out on top with a weight of 15lbs and 9 ounces. They claimed a combined check for $8190.00. Reggie Thiel and Greg Oppegard took second place honors with 14lbs and 7ounces to claim a combined check for $4495.00. Jerry Hein and Jeff Meyer brought 13lbs and 5ouncs to the scales to claim third place and a combined check for $3810.00. Veteran pro Alan Sholts and Julian Jones took fourth place with 13lbs and 2ounces to claim a check for $3225.00. Jim Peters and Chris Tuckner nabbed fifth place with there 12lb and 8ounce bag to take home a check for $2340.00 to round out the top five. Tim Chick finished in a three way tie for 11th and was the top placing Toyota Tundra owner. He took home a check for $1000, courtesy of Toyota.
