I will be on the bay tommorrow with a couple of newbies that would like to try out the bay. Any starting locations such as depth or general areas would be great I will report back on how things go. I am looking for action more that anything. I assume 16-20 feet of water of geano's should be good? I have not been out there in at least 5 weeks, where did the time go Thanks

Member Posts: 885 | Grouse, Northwest wind today made for a long day. I caught 5 Walleyes, 1 Muskie (34 inches or so, I released him without taking him out of the water), 3 Northerns and a handful of Sheeps, all shallow. I could not get the deep bite to work today, nor could the other 5 guys out there. Everyone left after an hour or so. The water temp dropped 4 degrees today in 11 feet or less of water. Most of the regulars I see every outing stopped by to chat on the water and had 1 or 2 fish. Lots of weeds and not many hits. Everything came on Hammered Copper. Black Orange beads. I ran a bunch of combinations of colors today without any luck. I'll be out Tues through Friday. PM me if you need details Purple Skeeter

Thanks Purple Skeeter for the report it is much appreciated Hit the bay yesterday afternoon and was quite disappointed for my guests we ended up with around six eyes and a mixed bag of trash fish. We did dump a nice eye 28-29'' at the back of the boat. Nothing deep and not a real consistent pattern although pink did take several of the eyes. Water temp was only around 69-70. Thought it would be warmer. Maybe hit it again over the weekend. Sure was suprised at the lack of boats out.

Member Posts: 35 Location: Green Bay, Wisconsin | It was a rough day for me also yesterday. Only 2 walleye while fishing solo. I got a few sheep and a 45" muskie. I did a lot of searching without much reward. Nothing happening deep at all. Walleyes were caught in about 5 feet of water. Weeds suck, but that's where they seem to be. I was only averaging 67 degree surface temp, a bit warmer in the real skinny water. I'll accept any help anyone can offer.

Member Posts: 344 Location: Manitowoc WI | Fished from vincent to bayshore today. worked the shorelines shallow and deep. 2 walleyes and a ton of garbage fish. at least one eye was a 25 inch 6lb'r. If your looking for the big school of 3lb'rs they arent here.. however, plenty of garbage fish around. The story was the same around the launch.

Member Posts: 885 | Nothing today in 6 hours, Ganoes full of weeds and will remain that way for the rest of the year. Most weeds have topped out in 7-8 feet of water. Nothing deep from 17 feet to 25 feet deep, water temp 68 degrees. Purple Skeeter

Member Posts: 885 | It all depends on which way the wind has blown for the last 24 hours, the temps in 7-11 feet of water on the surface can change 3 degrees in a couple of hours. I would guess in the upper 70's. Purple Skeeter

Member Posts: 35 Location: Green Bay, Wisconsin | Caught two 15" 'eyes yesterday in about 18 f.o.w. on the east shore south of Vokes. Also 2 white perch and many, many sheep (2 which were giant board burying trash can lids) Frustrating for me, but lot's of fun for the two kids on board. Water temp was 70, 71

Haven't tried the channel, but University Bay and even up to Suamico the water is very dirty. Fished 6 hours on 7/11 for 2 18" eyes and 3 2lb. cats. I think there is fish all over these areas, but it has to clean-up.

Member Posts: 56 | I was out 7/11, played around in University Bay and picked up 4 fish in about an hour and a half, went to Suamico and picked up 3 more in about 2 hours, I did not see a boat anywhere near Suamico or Geanos, I was surprised cause the fish are still around. I thought the water was pretty clean by Suamico, when you can see the stainless prop, it's clean.
