Day 1 dawned with clouds in the sky and temps in the low 60's with winds light out of the east at 5-10mph. The pros have found fish in many different areas with everything from trolling to pitching shallow weeds. The Can-Am is an artificial only event so that adds a new twist to the game with just about every angler putting the highly favored Berkley Gulp to the test this week. Bob Propst Jr. felt optimistic this morning saying he had one stretch where the fish seemed to be a bit heavier and felt that if he could get those fish to go that he would do alright. Stay tuned with a live web cast from the weigh-in this afternoon starting at 5pm. Be sure to tune in, this ones going to be really special! Location: Rhinelander | A front moved through shutting down the hot bite some pros had been experiencing, but that didn't stop the Goon from kicking out a few very nice fish. Canadian Pro Don Dolinski paired with Co Angler Hank Smoke, our host at Indian Point Camp, put two big fish in the boat to take a near 4 pound lead over Ron Seelhoff, who's 9.39 pound hog capped a 14.74 pound limit. Alex Keszler is close behind with 13.9, John Butts, Canadian Team Captain, holds down 4th with 12.76, and Joe Barron is right there with 12.57. The rest of the Top Ten looks like this: Chris Kindraka-11.55 Scott Dingwall- 11.51 Dean McDonald- 11.21 Todd Riley- 10.35 John Kolinski-10.16 The general consensus from the stage in Dryden Ontario today is the bite will improve tomorrow. All the limits and big fish onstage today may have beaten last year's totals...and ALL on artificials! Stay tuned tomorrow morning as WalleyeFIRST continues coverage of the PWT Super pro Can Am. Member Posts: 1040 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Bob, Dave is not fishing this event. He was not selected for Team USA. Here is the press release that was released by the PWT back in April. This provides an explanation on how Team USA Captain Gary Parsons selected his team. Take a look, it's very informative. http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/articles/08.14.2008/1338/2008.PWT.... | ||
