Location: Gladstone, Michigan 49837 | this past week the over-night temps. dipping into the single and teen digits cooling the water fast. Low 40' and actually seeing shore ice on the north end of the Bay off Nelsons and Garth Point.
Observed about 2 dozen rigs spread out over the Kipling and Gladstone Launches this past couple days. Ramps still are in, use caution to the icy conditions!
Night bite seems to being still the most talked about, trolling using cranks, boards and working the shallows over still green weeds of cabbage/coontail.
Talked to a Mike yesterday saying they were using #18 Raps over the weeds in their small 16 footer taking several nice eaters for the table to combine with some fresh venison while they are up from lower Michigan.
Mentioning too that daytime bites and using Redtail/Sucker minnows in the 4 inch range with either live-bait or jigs working as well.
Morning temps. at around 25' at this time.
Keep in touch, be safe and enjoy....
