WOW! That's amazing for being in the wild. I have two theories. Either those were tank raised fish returned to the wild or they spend allot of time there hand feeding the fish. When I used to raise saltwater species, I had a Grouper that would come out of the water to get food from my hand, especially if it was a crayfish. I had a huge tank of yellow perch and walleye too for a while, and after time they started to relate me with food and would follow my hand around waiting for a meal.

They are wild fish and my brother in law has spent a lot of time hand feeding them. He says bass will react to him the same way all over that lake. Pike, musky and walleye flee when he approaches. Pretty amazing. I would not have believed it had I not seem it and fed and swam with them myself.
