I broke the main bracket on my kicker motor ($400 repair). The repair shop says it happens a lot with this design, that is why merc designed the pro-kicker. My motor runs great ('99), I would like to keep it. Spending $600 on a panther mount seems excessive. I am wondering about the Bracket Pro? Other options - suggestions?

Btw, I have a 125 merc on an aluminum boat.

If you can find a BracketPro, and if you can get to the transom to get at the strap, go that route. I don't think Bob is making them any morre.

Maybe sell your motor and get a ProKicker?

Yes, I have been thinking about the pro kicker. My current kicker is a '99 that runs great - starts great, so I hate to spend the money. Not sure if I could trade it in or what I could get for it selling outright.
