Member Posts: 25 Location: Tobin Lake Sask. | Hi I just purchased a 27c, is there anybody with any tips on how to run the cable from the bottom to the top? Do i just leave a loop along the side. The trolling motor is a powerdrive. thanks for any help

In years past with this setup, I went through several transducers because I snapped the transducer cable by turning the trolling motor too much. My only recourse was using electrical tape to attach the cable to the trolling motor shaft in the hope that the cable would slip if I turned the motor too much. Also make sure that you set the trolling motor/cable assembly up so that you have plenty of play in the cable when storing the trolling motor back to the boat. I found that inserting that transducer cable into the coiled trolling motor wire helped with this. Hope this makes sense?

Member Posts: 3899 | Do a search on here and/or MuskieFirst for Powerdrive transducer mounting. There is some detailed instructions on how to do this the proper waay. And as Dennis said, be careful not to turn it too far that you stretch and break the cable.

Member Posts: 25 Location: Tobin Lake Sask. | Thanks guys, thats kinda what i wound up doing, i appreciate the replys. I have heard that you get a better sonar reading with a transducer mounted on the outside than an internal one, have you heard this theory?
