I stay at Sportsman's every chance I get. Great food, great location, great people and very cheap compared to other places. BUT it is an old motel. Compared to to today's standards everything is very small and getting your boat in and out using their turn around can be less than fun.

Will I use Sportsman's again? Absolutely yes. It is a great fisherman hangout. Just make sure to get singles and do not share rooms (too small).

A better location is at Ranger Pat's house. Just call 'em. I'm sure he would luv to have ya' 1-920-har-leyD

Is the Sportsmen still open? I had heard it closed. Stayed there in years past and was satisfied. The prime rib at the supper club was good. Some other other options and places I have stayed in town are -

Bay Motel - older style, small rooms, clean, very reasonably priced, last time I was there it was pretty nice, room to park boats and plug in

Americ Inn - more expensive, very nice, more ammenities for family, not far metro boat launch, room to park boats and plug in

Extended Stay America - price was reasonable, rooms were o.k., not a lot of room to park & plug in boats, farther away from the landings than others

You may be right.  I just tried calling and the number was disconnected. Too bad if it is true.

Go Camping! Bayshore Park or Oconto(County Park #2, I think?) those are a couple of options.

I would camp at Bayshore park, you have a nice landing right there.

Sportsman's is indeed closed. The property has been flattened.

I'm staying at the AmeriHost at I-43 and Mason St. (exit 183) for that event.

It's more on the East side of the bay rather than the West side where the Sportsman's was/is.

But, still not far from the launch.

Their number is 920-406-8200. They called me about something a while back, and I can' t remember what it was....might of been a name change, but I can' t be sure. So, if you call and they say a different name, then that's what that was. lol

Otherwise, just plug in Green Bay Lodging in the search bar and you'll get a ton of options.

Kirt,

A bunch of us just stayed at the North Star Motel on Military Ave. for the MWS tournament. Decent place, nothing special, but you can back your boat up to your door to charge batteries, they have microwaves and small fridges in the rooms, etc. 2 double beds and 2 guys was $60 for the night, but maybe less if it's just you or you negotiate a longer stay? Was about 5 minutes to Metro Park Launch from there. Plenty of food options down Military as well.

I stay at the Arena Motel. It's cheap and good enough for a couple of fishermen. It's just east of Lambeau Field. There's always been a room as long as there is no Packer event. You can park your rig right by the room. The Stadium View bar is within walking(or crawling)distance and has good sandwiches and scenary.I don't have the number handy but will get it to you if you like.
