| Great report Hafe, My fishing has been a trolling bite, but to clarify my statement it's important to note that although I clean VERY VERY FEW fish, I did not intend to promote the taking of nothing but 23" for the table as it is the strongest spawining stock we have but more of a tounge in cheeck comment as everything is huge.......BUT..... when 20-23" is the norm I'm cleanin 'em like it or not.... There just aren't enough fishermen.......especially this year.

| Yeah anyone on the lake on Saturday could see there isnt enough fishermen!

Location: Darboy USA | Quick trip for me Saturday before the rain started. Pulled spinners on the north shore for an hour and picked up a 25.5" and a 13". Ran down closer to home and pulled the mud on the east shore, got 6 more there, 14", 16.5", 19", 22" and 23.5". All on spinners and crawlers, color didn't seem to matter. Only a few sheeps as well which was nice.
I agree with everyone else, things are heating up and 'Ol Lady Bago is gonna put out some hogs this year. That 25.5" must have been 6# minimum, it was tagged as well so will find out the story on her shortly. |

I usually agree with most of your ideas BUT to say: "There just aren't enough fishermen".
Care to explain?
I shake my head every year when the tournament list comes out for that system and always wonder how the fishery can keep up. Yea, yea, I know that with all the pressure it always seems to survive but it sure seems like the lake gets more than its fair share of fishing pressure.
I'll be honest and explain that I have not been on bago much this year (yet). Are you saying that you and others are seeing a major reduction of fishing? Because of the economy? |

There has not been much pressure this year and the biggest reason is the weather I believe. The bite early was horrible compared to years past so not much draw on the system so far this year. With the shad population down pulling some fish sure ain't gonna hurt right now. Like I said before, the bite is better then I have ever seen it. Every spot I know had fish on it and I have never seen that before. The system is doing great so no need to get to worried about the number of tourneys right now. If this changes I am sure the DNR will be right on top of it. For now I will just enjoy the fishing. |

| Dennis, there are only about 1500-2500 tourney anglers and if they are all fishing, most are not "taking" or "impacting", you know this. During the week I never saw more than a dozen boats and never more than 2-3 at the same time (for the north 1/2 of the lake, and the areas of the upper lakes I've been fishing) If there were a hundred or two on any given day that was EXTREME. As Rich said fish are EVERYWHERE now and it may start to get a bit more pressure but by no means are there enough fishermen to damage this huge population, and yes I believe the economy and weather have played a major role this year. Come on up lets wet a line!

Don't know. I had to work my a$$ off for 2 this morning myself; 1 on harnesses and the other on a clown shad rap. Very few sheep today too, although I did catch a monster -- had to be 10lbs. Quite a few whities when I would speed up. |

| 24.5" sheephead weighs 7 pounds (6.93 on the one I weighed yesterday). Now stop coming on here and exaggerating 
Our plan in the sheephead tournament is always to catch a 7 pound fish with a 4 pound tumor, and 2 pounds of zebra mussel remains hanging out its pooper.

Seriously, look at these two that were caught last weekend on the Mississippi on pool 9 for a sheephead tourney. The big one went 20.98

| At least a Triton boat is good for something...but more to the point, who spends time fishing for sheephead in JUNE??? Our tournies aren't until mid July. You can't get a proper 102 degree all-day rotting in the cooler stench in JUNE! |

Location: Menasha, WI | They were very particular this morning after the rain, but they were biting when I gave them what they wanted (black/gold SR5, 70' back, 1.8mph). Did pretty well for a 2 hour stretch after the rain and before the skies cleared. Once the sun came out strong, I couldn't buy a bite no matter what I threw at 'em.. |

Location: Oshkosh, WI | Went out Friday afternoon. I couldn't catch anything but whitebass trolling shad raps, tail dancer, wally diver 30-70' back in the mud, so I moved back into 15-16 fow (west shore oshkosh area). When I moved baits back to 90-100' then I caught a few walleye and a sauger. It was pretty flat and sunny. I had been doing well on purple and the blue/orange/chrome earlier in the week, but it changed to perch color. I also slowed down from 2.4 earlier to 1.9-2.1 yesterday.
Do the fish generally go deeper on the trolling bite when the water gets flat? Any suggestions on what I might do differently in the mud would be appreciated as well. |

| out sat north of oshkosh,started shallow trolling got 3 walleyes at our 2nd spot.moved out to mud and got 2 more walleyes.as we were setting up i casted out a bait and as i was putting the board on a 21" walleye hit it,that fish had to be right up at the surface.19ft of water.wind picked up and went back to where we started and filled up, brite baits worked 4 us.friend was in the mud and pulled a 3 man limit all on crawlers. |
