Location: Rhinelander | The 2010 Spring Valley MWC is underway! The bite has been stellar, but the overall size is down from previous years. Most of the Teams said they felt 15 pounds a day would keep them in the hunt for a check. Conditions today are ideal with temps to be into the 50's after a cool but very bearable morning with light winds. 128 boats will be weighing in, and most predictions are for many to have limits of 16 to 18" fish. It's the 20" plus 'kickers' the teams are looking for, and some report they have big fish pinned down if the bite holds. Watch for morning interviews and images soon. First flight is back at 3 PM. We'll have weigh in video, interviews, and images up directly following the weigh in, plus live reports from the MWC Weigh In site on the River. Location: Rhinelander | The bite was much tougher today for most of the teams for reasons unknown; no big fronts or other major changes rolled through, the bite was simply off for some...but not all. Kevin Dahl and Steve Stack weighed in 5 fish to take the day One lead with 15.20 pounds. Tom Giachetto Sr. and Tom Giachetto weighed 13.37 to hold second. Mark Meravy and Dave Zurawski brought 13.06 pounds to the stage for third place. Dan Zwick and Tony Kobriger weighed in 12.50 to hold fourth. Ryan Vecchis and Bill Elliot are in fifth with 12.26. Allen and Butz, Plumb and Lukancic, Levin and Ingoglia, Wheaton and Ernat, and Tauscher Roemig round out the top ten. Rich Stadler and Jeremy Lewis are in 35th, only a bit over 2 pounds out of the top ten. It looks like there will be some leader board shifting tomorrow no matter how the bite is!
