Subject: stabalizer on motor

I just bought a 202 triton and am not happy with the way the boat porposes and bounces around in almost no waves. I am thinking about putting a stabalizer on and wondering if anybody has an opinion on brands or any other ideas?

That boat should not need a stabilizer. Talk to Josh at the 'Boat Doc' in Lomira. He will have a few suggestions. (920) 269-2628

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PUT YOUR TROLLING MOTOR BATTERIES UP FRONT AND PUT A HYDRO-FOIL ON YOUR MOTOR. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY G3 AND IT CURED IT RIGHT AWAY. PLUS I GAINED ANOTHER 2 MPH AND IT GETS ON PLAIN A LOT FASTER. MY BOAT RUNS A LOT SMOOTHER WITH THE HYDRO-FOIL. BELEIVE ME I'M NO EXPERT BUT IT WORKED FOR ME. I FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE DEALING WITH ALUM. VS FIBERGLASS. JMO.

Which Hydro-Foil did you use, many on the market and curious which one has worked for others?

I PUT THE STIGRAY STABILIZER ON MY MOTOR. IF I DO IT AGAIN I'M GOING WITH THE TWO PEICE STABILIZER SYSTOM INSTEAD. THE TWO PEICE LOOKS GOOD AND IT IS MORE WATER DYNAMIC, LESS DRAG. I DO A LOT OF TROLLING WITH MY 90 YAMAHA 4 STR AND THE STINGRAY HELPS IN KEEPING MY BOAT ON COARSE BECAUSE IT MAKES THE STEERING SO MUCH MORE SMOOTHLY. ONCE AGAIN JMO.

Make sure the motor is mounted at the proper height. i have a 215 and had a similiar problem. I raised my motor two full holes and it cured the problem. Like the other gentleman said - talk to Josh at The Boat Doc.
A lot of variables come into play when issues like this arise.
