Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | Fished with a couple of buddies today on the Bay. We jumped around starting deep running Rattle Tots with a piece of crawler with spoon sliders above them just southeast of the Center Spark plug with no success. Water temp IMO was just a tad cold yet for this technique to be productive, but I had to try. Switched over to some harnesses and moved to the south closer to the Island in ~17'. Hit a few and then hit the Island bite and hit a few on Thunderstick Jr's 20-35' back. The sun went away and shot up into the river to check the river bite trolling and picked up a couple more (Thundersticks 25-45' back). This bite has yet to turn on like it did last year at this time. But the water temp again is a tad on the cold side, but the channel is wall to wall check marks. Only one sheephead today and no cats. Not a great day - but with all fish going back anyway, none of us really cared. Got a few of the ones we caught on video with my buddies camera.
