Congratulations and THANKS to all 101 teams that fished the MWS Upper Winnebago tournament.
The weather cooperated; the winds were much less than the wind the teams’ pre fished. The sun was out all day and we had pleasant temperatures. However the fish did not cooperate. Most of the teams had a very tough bite. Only four teams weighed a five fish limit. There was a total of 118 fish caught weighing a total of 248.5#
The father/son team of Bruce Van Schyndel and Jeremy Van Schyndel took first place with five fish weighing 10.88# winning them $4,400. Second place went to the team of Gordon Schwartz and Wayne Horn with five fish totaling 10.62# for $2,300. Third place went to the team of Steve Meyer and Jason Van Lanen with five fish weighing 10.14# for $1,200. Fourth place went to the team of Larry Strelow and Matt Reimer with five fish totaling 9.68# for $1,000. Fifth place went to the team of Scott Hausauer and Tricia Hausauer with five fish weighing 8.38# for $825.

Mr Walleye Rods award went to the team of Troy Saunders and Tad Saunders

Stowmaster Net award went to the team of Lee Bain and Peter Arbeiter

Intruder Products award went to the team of Camerom Lewis and Tim Euting

Tony Barber and Heather Barber had the big fish of the tournament weighing 5.26# winning them two plaques donated by All Sport and Trophy, a Deep Cycle Battery donated by TFM Promotions, two spools of Triple Fish Line donated by Triple Fish, and Drop-n-Stay donated by Drop-n-Stay.

Current Team of the year is Bruce Van Schyndel and Jeremy Van Schyndel Bruce Van Schyndel and Jeremy Van Schyndel are also the current parent/child Team of the year. Current husband/wife team of the year is Scott Hausauer and Tricia Hausauer. Current Sibling Team of the Year is Troy Saunders and Tad Saunders.

We paid out just under $16,000 in cash and merchandice. Cash payout down to 18th place with 18th place getting thier entry fee back. The top five teams recieved plaques. Additionally four teams out of the money recieved merchadice. With 101 teams twenty two teams which is over twenty percent went home with cash or merchandice. Big fish alone had over $250 worth of merchadice plus plaques. Teams are also fishing to qualify for a Championship with no entry fee with a payout over $22,000 cash plus merchadice and a free awards banquet.

Nice picture and nice fish. That smile is what it is all about. There are a lot of teams that would have liked to weigh that one yesterday with the tough bite.

She and her sister have been threatening to unionize.

It looked like a tough bite for sure. The water was filthy.

Nice pic Thumper! My 6 year old got 3 nice brookies last night and is excited to eat them for dinner tonite!

Anyone know where some of the bigger weights came from? Was it a trolling bite or did all different tactics prevail? Congrats to the Van Schyndels, great bag in tough conditions!

Very nice job Jim. You paid down to 18th place while the FLW paid down to 9th. That's with your entry fees being lower than $600 per person and the costs of doing your tournament much lower.

Great bang for your buck

Thanks. I cant take much credit except for just showing up and fishing I was in Florida for that whole week beforehand. I have to give all the credit to my dad and our partners. It was a day were you dont catch a lot of fish but you get 8 walleye bites and 5 of them are the right ones.
