| Looking for any information on a good radio, anything from where to get one and best place to install on boat would be helpful thanks |

| Not called ship to shore anymore. Just Marine VHF radios now.
I really liked my Uniden Solara. Black or white, anywhere from $100 up. I think Cabelas has it for $100.
Here's a link to how I mounted mine. Used a small Ram mount. Out of the way under the console. Change channels from the mic. You can connect to your NMEA 0183 output on your GPS and send distress information if your in trouble.

I'd suggest the Shakespeare Little Giant. Great antenna. Those little stainless whips are worthless. |

| Remember the Cass Lake outing, when I was playing relay station for Jason Smith and The Extreme One? Didn't matter where I was on the lake. I could talk with them, but they couldn't talk to each other! They had the SS whips, and I had that 8' Galaxy. Maybe it was the flag? |
