Congrats to new Tuffy owner, Jesse Bueche,l and his partner Shane Gerner on your Otter Street Win! Did Rick handle all the prefishing for you? hehehe

Pretty decent weights came in both days. Huge bag of 24+ lbs by Team Noble/Hendrix Sunday! Nice. Congrats to Team Blanck, Scmitty, Andy Meyer, and Team Frank on good finishes!

I just noticed that 24# bag as well, anyone know what they were doing? That's a great bag on Bago!

Saw this in the paper, are the release rates usually that low? I thought most tournaments got 75%+ returned to lake?

The second day release was slightly down from Saturday, with 57 percent of the 614 walleye caught Sunday surviving.
Overall, 59.4 percent of the 1,287 walleye caught were released.

Hot days on the lake, long waits to weigh in is a good formula for high mortality. I'd say near 60% is pretty good. I'm sure no fish were wasted, and those deemed not releasable went to a local food pantry, or VFW, or other great cause.

Several years ago, many tourneys were reporting up 80-90% release rates, not figuring in delayed mortality. I believe with the new tourney regs, the DNR is watching, and organizers are much more conservative deciding if a fish is releasable or not. No floaters is good PR. Fish to the food pantry is good PR. Dead fish, even if it's just a few, floating near the tourney weigh in sites is bad PR.

Nice job Otter Street Fishing Club!

I agree 100% Shep! 264 fish going to feed some needy families doesn't worry me at all, that's not even 1 fish/boat! Probably more dead fish crossed the docks at Winnebago Cty Landing yesterday than that!

It is not the Jesse buechel from buechel stone that owns a Tuffy.

Thanks for the mention Shep.
We had 2 dead fish on Sunday and I think it was due to the heavy algae bloon. We ran the livewell all day but I think they just choked on the green slime. The water temp also climbed about 11 degrees during the day.

Thanks Shep, the Tuffy really took a beating on Saturday. That hurt one of our fish. And Sunday with the heat took another one. We sure try to keep them going. I think its a very well ran tournament over all. Dale,I'm getting thirsty.

WOW!!!! Not only do I get the grief locally, I get it from a buddy from out of state!!!!!! At least Ginny got a good laugh out of it. Strange bite this year with low weights and small fish. That 24+ bag sure brought out the oohs and ahhs though.
