Location: Appleton | Congratulations and THANKS to all 85 teams that fished the MWS Winnebago tournament.
The weather started with thunder storms and lightning causing a one half hour delay in starting the tournament. The storms cleared and blue skies and light winds came long enough to get the boats on the water. Shortly after the release the winds picked up making for some brutal conditions on the water. This added to a very tough bite made for a long day for the teams. There was a total of 26 fish caught weighing a total of 53.74#
The team of Steve Meyer and Jason Van Lanon took first place with three fish weighing 8.12# winning them $3,600. Second place went to the team of G W Kadow and Dave Skwor with two fish totaling 5.14# for $2,000. Third place went to the team of Stephan Paulsen and Troy Zupke with one fish weighing 4.34# for $1,100. Stephan and Troy also had the big fish of the tournament with their 4.34# walleye winning them two plaques donated by All Sport and Trophy, a Accudepth reel and a Diawa rod donated by Marine General, a Drop-n-Stay and two fifty dollar Mack’s Lures gift certificates and two spools of Triple Fish Line donated by Triple Fish. Fourth place went to the team of Brian Gustke and Steve Monacelli with three fish weighing 4.26# for $850. Fifth place went to the team of Brett Leitl and Kelsey Hoehnen with one fish weighing 3.66# for $700.
Mr Walleye Rods award went to the team of Mark Dunn and William Bays
Stowmaster Net award went to the team of Ben Schmoldt and Nick Wenninger
Intruder Products award went to the team of Troy Saunders and Tad Saunders.
Currently the Team of the year Steve Meyer and Jason Van Lanon. The current parent/child Team of the year is Steve Wiedmeyer and Mike Wiedmeyer. Current husband/wife team of the year is Scott Hausauer and Tricia Hausauer. Current Sibling Team of the Year is Troy Saunders and Tad Saunders.
