First aid kit.
Short pieces of lathe for kindling.
Matches.
Nylon string.
Hatchet
Roll of TP.

All kept in a small back pack with my Frogg Togg rain gear. I'm on a northern Minnesota lake with lots of rocks and few cabins. Never know when I'll take out the lower unit and need to spend a night.

Of course the number one thing is my life jacket which I wear if the big motor is running.

A mini bolt cutters is a good idea. Never know when somebody's going to motor up to you with a rattle trap hanging off their ear.

I don't think you can buy those items over the counter.
CPR standards are about to change next month. You can retire the mouth piece

Rich your wacked. Better stop right now eating fish out of the fox river. I just have a basic kit thats out there. I bought the large one, it has everything in it that I need. And that is right as far as CPR goes. Dont stop to give breaths. Sorry Rich, that passing out thing you do wont work anymore, your only going to get a sore chest!!!! HAHAHAHAHA

Tyee,
For very remote areas you can RENT sat. phones for short periods. Don't know the cost though.
