| I went with the 31 Optima... HDS, X-15, livewells, optimax, draw lots of juice. I also charge it before every time out. If I had the room, I'd go with a dual set up... Yes it was pricey... but sometimes I drink beer and buy things... wed afternoon it was fishing stuff after work... Today it will be 4:10 rear end for truck... gonna have to get more beer...
Hijack alert: Classic guy was using lithium batteries... 4 batteries weighed 120#s...info anybody? |

| No problem Terry, glad to help.
Is that 9.9 a tiller or a remote?
Does it have electric start?
There are a couple tricks that can help depending on which one you have.

| 9.9 4st remote electronic start. ANY info would be great ! It will spit , sputter , and die the first time out every yr. After it runs for awhile its ok , but if i let it sit same thing all over again . I put feul stabalizer in it with every fill up!
THANKS ,

| Terry, it is not uncommon when these motors sit for a while for them to be cold blooded. The stabilizer is great.
Make sure the oil level is right at the line on the dipstick. These motors hate overfilled oil levels. Which by the way the oil should be changed every fall, no exceptions. Check the idle exhaust relief to make sure it is clear. The motor needs to be running in water for this.
If the motor starts and runs fine after this initial start-up, it might just be air in the fuel line. Also, does your engine rev up fairly high with the warm up lever, if not the throttle linkage might need adjusting.
