| I have a late 80s glass bass rig and im finally buying a new rig . After talking with several of my fishing friends i have narrowed the search down to lund or ranger . I love the look of the ranger 619 but hate the price . The 1900 pro V in aluminium is a much better price . BUTT how do they compare ? I fish alot of bass tournaments but still want to do a little walleye fishing on Erie . I live in Canton Oh any advice or experience would be great .

| You are comparing the best glass boat to the best aluminum boat. Both have excellent resale value, and are easy to sell. Either one would be a great choice. The Ranger will probably ride a little better in the rough stuff, but the Lund will be faster. The layout of the Lund will "fish" better than the Ranger. The Lund has more room in the back for trolling. I see lots of Lunds on Erie everytime I go out. I personally own a 1900 pro-v, and absolutely love it. It fishes well, trailers easy and is very durable. If money was not a consideration, then the Ranger might be the way to go. Of course then you might be looking at a 621. |

| Many of the things Guest said are true except speed. Owned a 620 and it went 63.5mph w/ 225 etech ho vs my current lund 2025 w/ 225 yam at 54 mph. I love the 4 stroke and would never buy anything other than another yamaha. The lund is a WET ride in rough windy conditions more so than the ranger. Additionally, rivets will loosen up over time depending on how hard you fish the boat. A ranger will get stress fracture cracks on the gunal next to the consoles. Magnaflux powder will reveal the cracks. I love both boats and the cost is worth the stretch. Sucks that 50k sits in the driveway. Should be able to fly as well for the cost. Happy buying! |

| Dave, I don't think you can compare a 4 stroke to a 2 stroke for top speed. That 4 stroke is smooth and quiet but heavy. My son replaced a 115 Merc (2 stroke) with a 115 Honda and lost 5 mph on his boat, both had been set up with correct SS props. Might make for an interesting discussion though...4 stroke vs. 2 stroke with the same hp ratings. My pro-v 1900 with 200 Merc with Laser II prop gets 62.5mph on gps. My old pro-v 1775 with 150 Merc got 55mph. |

| Thanks guys ! Thats the information a dealer will never openly give , and i decided to go with a 2006 PRO V 1900 with a 225 opti . The boat has 102 hrs a 9.9 kicker and full windshield for 26000 . I really liked the floor plan and the fishing / fishermen features . The boat also has enough storage that you could bring a dam tackle store with you .
