Subject: trolling plates

I'm considering installing a trolling plate on my engine, hoping to achieve the trolling speed I'm looking for. Does anyone have any experience with these that you could share? What are the pros/cons?

Trolling plates are effective but they put a lot of hours and low idling use on a big motor. Your fuel consumption will be higher too. Try to find a way to afford a good used kicker (4stroke). I think you'll be a lot happier.
