| I have a LMS334 that I am considering networking to a new HDS7. What I am wondering is what exactly can I accomplish by doing this? Can waypoints be synchronized? Can my Navionics card be shared? Can sonar data be shared? |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | The only thing that can be shared is GPS data. Navionics card info has never been able to be shared between two units, you have to have two chips, one for each unit. Sonar data cannot be shared either, only with similar units, LCX to LCX or LCX-LMS, HDS to HDS units only for sonar. |

Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | These 2 units will not work together. I have hooked them up and sometimes you will get a reading between them for a moment, but mostly nothing. I have talked with Lowrance and they stated to me that same thing, they dont play well together. You will need to sell the LMS and upgrade to a HD. They are sweet when they work as one, that I can say.
Also, the new HD units you get have the base maps on them, use that base map before buying a chip. The base maps have lots of contour data for dang near everywhere without buying a new chip for each machine.
