Not having a boat sucks But thanks Dennis.

Jimmy will have a good day and get 7 no doubt. If he can manage a kicker is the big question. Knowing him I am sure he will.

The weather is a bit tougher on the final day, but most of the pros were actually thinking the clouds and approaching bad weather may improve the bite. Several of the leaders took the no-wake trip of up to two and a half hours, but Mark Martin is right near the bridge.

Images and video are up on the AIM website.

Anybody know how recent and up-to-the-moment the GPS tracking is? Looks like Jimmy has been working the bends below Chico's area pretty hard....

Well, there's a cluster if icons right in front of Chico's. I guess if they're marking the top of his drift he's below; if they're marking the bottom of his drift above.

Stacker, can you see Nate Curell in front of your place?

I cannot see nate, he appears to be down in front of triangle and I cannot seem to find a boat ride to go down there. If I can soon, I will go shoot a video of these guys. It looks like they are all working above chicos except for plautz who is in chiefs big old hole below chicos. jimmy been there all morning, nate has made the hole hopping run looking for the school. Word is, and I get a lot of info, there is a school at the little wolf of 22 to 25 inch females and they are on there way.

Wow,
What a great tournament! Congrats on a great win Tommy! It's always very hard to win on the Winnebago system, and you fished a perfect tactical tournament when you consider the way the weather and conditions changed continually during the tournament days. And you were right about your observations on stage about tournament formatting. CRR allowed you to get that limit on day two and hunt for hogs for the rest of the day. I know that both Chase and I did the same thing, with early limits and it was very exciting going on the hunt, knowing that at any spot you could drop in on the big girls and blow the thing away! I can only imagine what it felt like when that 4 lber busted your jig on the third cast, and the excitement as you put each big fish in the live-well! In reality, like you said, you, I, and Chase along with quite a few other great sticks would have been sitting on shore by 10:00 in the morning with an average bag of fish. Many will take their shots at CRR, but once you actually fish an event as a true competitor you'll always appreciate the extremely exciting tournament environment that it creates. There is a reason that the big bass tours do not come up to these states and why the bass clubs in Wisconsin are trying so hard to get culling restrictions lifted for their tournaments. There is a reason that the BASS tour is so exciting... if Van Dam had to sit on shore at 10:00 in the morning, no one would watch....
Nice job buddy. Looking forward to FLW Erie next!

Not trying to hijack this thread but would like to expand on the comments by Gary on the CRR format.

I can tell you that there were guys that were watching the event this year with excitement. Guys that do not even watch tournament fishing, watched AIM. They were very interested in the fact that no fish were harmed in this event. They watched the weigh ins and found it to be exciting. You know what they were doing many times on friday, they were watching the GPS trackers and driving along the river to see if the boat on the gps was actually where they said it was. They liked watching the wraps on the boats and have found a bit of something to interest them in our sport. Keep up the good work.

Things are changing and I encourage AIM to do what ever it takes to hang in there till your plans come to fruition.

Ya.. lol.. i was fishing thursday in oshkosh.. so we are on the mary-go-round and J. Beckel rolls in and starts pulling fish.. some guy fishing with his kid. having a hard time had to shout to Jason and find out what the heck he was doing as he kept firing fish over the side of the boat after taking a quick pic.. jason took a min to explain what the rules of the game he was playing were all about.. the guy smiled and said thats the first time he has herd of a tournament like that and he fishes the river almost every day.. i would also like to add that Brad Davis.. was also spotted and i watched him catch about a dozen walleyes in about an hour. short biters and he was up front two fisting the buggers! . I hope things explode for aim to get the fields full with more heavy hitters.. I know Davis was just up for a day of fishing.. but id love to see Harsh , and Fellogy,, Roach and the Old Band back togather.
Dont get me wrong , The big names showed up for sure .. just Love to see them all. and throwing in a small hand full of local heavy hitters to join Jimmy Heughs only would add to the show.. I hope Aim comes back to the Winnabaggo chain next year . Great show!

oh Ya.. and as long as we are telling fish storys's
as we were fishing i picked up a faint sound of someone crying... so i took the boat down below the bridge... there was Tommy Skarlis.. (another heavy hitter) Just sobbing and crying... His Am partner just shrugged his shoulders and said Tommy has been like this for an hour or so!.. Tommy said he didnt know how to catch fish today... sniff sniff.. ... I asked him.. Do you know what bridge this is? He looked up at me as i handed him my hanky... sniff sniff.. i reminded him it was the Late great Gary Grey Bridge.. and his eyes lit up.... then i asked him what
Gary (Rip) would say if he saw Tommy Melting down like this and under his bridge?
Tommy said ... Sniff Sniff.. He would have been told to get the "H" out from under Garys Bridge and go up to his own honey hole( the Rat ) and Dig out some fish!
and that your not to good of a fisherman not to use a stinger hook! Sally!
I said ya... other than he may have dropped a few more F bombs when he caught you under there... Tommy smiled and blew a big snot bubble into my hanky!
i said Keep it.. and he fired that big outboard and Poof! he was gone.
what a trooper! and a GREAT MC!

First of all I am not bashing just questioning a decision? I have no problem with the crr format and I have fished an AIM event as a co. I think it's great for the system. I know it's your gig and I understand the no size limit on this system and the tough bite, but being an elite tournament and fisherman I would have thought 15"length would be the standard. To me it seems a bit of a reach to put fish on the stage.

What's legal on the system works fine for me. No one is winning with seven 12" fish, and the Pros who win win by catching the largest...not smallest fish. You know from fishing the events the Pros weigh in their 7 best. If the bite had held, the leading limits would have been all seven over 18".
