Location: LaCrosse, WI | Thinking of a couple nights on Little Bay around mid/late November. Just looking for some pointers. I'm planning on trolling stick baits behind boards at night in the 5-10' water. Anything else that a guy really should plan on doing while there? |

Despite my better judgement, I'll be headed up for a couple of trips this fall. It's hard to break old habits.

Location: LaCrosse, WI | I'm looking to fish some in the day, and some at night. Most of the folks I know spend most of their time there at night. I am willing to spend time during daylight hours as well. |

| Stick with the late afternoon/night bite. If you get out there too early, you'll have had enough by midnight. Maybe not the first day, but you'll get wore out, especially if it is cold and/or windy. Get your sleep and fish prime time. I'll message you with my best stuff. |

| O.k.....cool!. just seems alot nicer and usually warmer during the day is all + u can see good. Was just wondering why people want to fish in the dark. |

Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | I have had absolutely GREAT days in November on the deepest breaks during the MIDDLE of the day. IMHO, sleep in but be there at mid day. It can be the better part of the whole experience if you find the right spot(s). And if you do, think more high running baits and mid level on those fast breaks. |

Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | ...... and in my opinion, depending on where you are, midnight sucks. Too many boats moving around because they are heading in. 11pm sets a pattern.............. 2am is sweet. |

| I think that there will be a good bite this fall. Very good numbers of fish at Cedar, Shoals, Ford R. and south. Water has stayed quite warm. I haven't fished the upper bay much yet, but will soon. As mentioned by my fellow retiree, Sunshine, don't discount the mid day period. Another radical direction, but harnesses in November will put fish in the boat. Seems there are more than a few walleye that don't play by the rules. Reef Runners (both 800's and Deep Little Rippers) DHJ's and stick baits according to activity level. Deep Junior T-Sticks also. I convinced myself a long time ago that a piece of crawler on the tail hooks of the sticks is a good thing in the cold water. I only fish at night when I have a good crew due to some vision limitations. When I do, I stay away from the packs, may catch fish, but too nerve-wracking for me, plus there can be some real crazy behavior out there. Dennis and I have put a few fish in the boat over the years, but I think he steals my waypoints, so I have to watch him closely. |
