Living on Big Butte has me digging deep into the old tackle for my #5 Coutdowns. Over the last several months, all my old hot spots around the 41 bridge have been producing well. Most of my #5's are 25 years old and have not seen any action in years. After looking closely at a black/silver that has been my #1 producer, I noticed that I had modified it years ago by removing the split ring tuning the eye slightly down. It was driving me crazy... that one lure was catching 80% of my fish. I took 10 minutes of messing around and did the same adjustment to another black/silver #5 and bam!! it starting catch. I knew I was onto something (I still get pretty excited about catching every fish) so I took several different colors, made the adjustments and got the same "fish catching" results. For me, it reminded me that little changes can make a huge difference in results.

If it resulted in a trip to the doctor... I really don't want to know!
