Is there a reason for that omission or is it just the way you've always done it? I always have a bead in front of the blade...I vaguely remember reading somewhere that it would help deflect flotsam.

Run the ones with the bead in front usually after a BIG wind, when the water column is full of floating broken weed bits. Being these are the first harnesses I ever tied with smile blades, I wasn't sure how or rather doing so would effect the very light plastic smile blades adversely or not. Thought it better to be safe then sorry. Edited by walleye express 3/6/2012 3:16 PM

However, I usually do not in case I want to slow down to .5 or .8 mph for the finicky ones. Edited by Horshak 3/6/2012 5:24 PM
