Member Posts: 141 Location: Oshkosh, WI | I have been trolling (#4 ) 45 feet back and first hitting bottom in about 6.5 fow on 10# mono. Would love to hear others' findings because I can't find a published curve. Salmo site says the number 4 will run down to 10' and the 5 to 12' 7ft down: #4 (H4F) - 34 ft #5 (H5F) - 21 ft 8ft down: #4 - 42 ft #5 - 26 ft 9ft down: #4 - 50 ft #5 - 35 ft (This is based on using 10# mono)

Thanks Ave Joe, I appreciate the info. As you know, when fishing the upper lakes, we are fishing shallower than 10 or 12 feet, so I was hoping to find curves so I know how far back to hit a 5 foot depth, 6 foot depth etc. I have heard of guys running them 30 feet back in 6 -7 feet of water, but that doesn't tell me how deep the crank was running; it just tells me they were at the same depth as the fish! Hopefully others will share as well. Gotta love the Flicker Shads, depth curves right on the package! I will share more as I figure them out, too. Everyone is raving about them, but to be honest, I haven't caught a walleye on a Salmo. I often fish alone, so I will run a Shad Rap, a Flicker Shad and a Hornet, then switch over to whatever gets bit first. Some days I will drag a Salmo all day just out of spite and I still don't get bit! You know how it is, you tend to go with what has worked for you in the past.

Member Posts: 141 Location: Oshkosh, WI | Fishn'fools chart reflects my experience losing two of the overpriced buggers this spring. You don't get much warning before they really hang up badly in the rocks.

I got my info from two sources. 1 - I posted the same question and received those numbers on "the other walleye board", and 2. A friend called me a couple of days later with the exact same numbers. Said his friend copied them off a dive curve at a store. Take it for what it is worth. I guess we'll have to try them and find out. Just thougth I would share what I found! Randy
