Member Posts: 2300 Location: Berlin | Welcome all to the first annual Boat Doc Walleye Invitational run by Bago Walleye Club. We are at 61 boats which is great for the first tournament of the year! This means any original owner of a 2010-2012 Triton boat with a 150hp to 250hp motor will win an extra $1000 to $7000 if they win the tournament and are signed up for Triton gold! This is on top of the regular tournament payout. Thank you Triton boats! The board members will be going out last in the first flight for all 4 events. They are required to be back 30 minutes before the first flight to get ready for weigh-in. The 1st boat (non-board member) will be measuring and weighing the board members fish. Here is a list of the contestants:
Weigh-in will start at 3:00 for any of those wanting to see what our circuit is all about. Edited by Rich S 5/11/2012 10:04 AM

Rich, you looking for any volunteers to setup, help during weight in, etc?

This will be a learning experience but I am sure people understand and will be patient with us. We will analyze our weigh-in proceedure after this event and make corrections as needed. After that we might be looking for volunteers for the 2nd event. One of my big worries is that we have an unbelievable amount of "out of the money" and door prizes to give away it will take a LONG time.

Member Posts: 192 | Personally, I really like the Bago Walleye Club logo. Someone very talented must have come up with it. ![]() See you guys on Sunday. I'm looking forward to a good time. Now if I could just find the right sized fish...

Member Posts: 2300 Location: Berlin | Mark, you did almost as good fishing as you did with the logo. Congrats on 3rd! The weights brought in were very impressive. Around 24.5lbs won it and it took 16.57lbs to cash a check. We will be releasing a follow up this week with the details. Edited by Rich S 5/13/2012 7:46 PM

Member Posts: 192 | It was a good day out there for just about everyone. I can't believe the number of big fish being caught right now. It's pretty bad sitting out there at 1:30pm with 20lbs in the well and thinking, we need to find some big fish if we want a chance to win. Get out there and enjoy it guys, it's a lot of fun. Thanks to Bago Walleye Club for a great tournament. I thought things went very well. Next one is coming up soon, you guys should get in if you can. Good people and good payout.

Member Posts: 514 Location: Darboy USA | What was the hot tactic, trolling or fishing rocks? I assume most of the bigger fish were caught on the west side? We've been doing well on the east shore, but nothing more than the 2-3# fish that seem to be all over the system!

Member Posts: 2300 Location: Berlin | Big weights came from trolling harnesses, fishing rocks, weeds and the river. Pretty much everything is producing big fish right now. Edited by Rich S 5/14/2012 8:42 AM

New User Posts: 3 | Was nice to have almost a full field for the tourney and the system is absolutely on fire right now. Normally, 10-12 lbs. is a respectable weight on the Winnebago system and has a chance to put you in the money in most tournaments, but my partner and I figured we had 16-17 lbs. in the well and I was thinking we might not cash a check! (ended up being 17.23 and in 9th place so barely cashed a check) The bite is good all over and as Rich said, it is not one thing producing the big fish. It was fun watching Rich whine like a little girl when he realized the river bite was on and he missed out on it! ![]() Aaron Bilitz Edited by Aaron B 5/14/2012 11:05 AM

I know Rich likes to fish the river and missed out on the river bite. But you all know Rich is famous for trolling wax worms on the west end of Poygan. He has mastered that pattern from what I gather. Me...I just can't get that pattern to go. Ha! Good to see you again Rich..well run tourney. Hats off to all the folks to make it that way!! Member Posts: 2300 Location: Berlin | It was great seeing you again Dave. We had a good 16-18lb program working and it is tuff to ignore that but I guess this year you aint crap unless you got at least 20lbs. What a year! Aaron, I guess you guys proved that old saying about the squirrel finding a nut to be true. Enjoy this once in a lifetime accomplishment :D I want to put out a special thanks to all those that emailed and called us. It means a lot and I just wanted to say thanks. We are not perfect but will continue to try and make this circuit the best it can be.
