I was looking into geting my captains license in Wisconsin. Are you better off taking a class or doing it online? What ones can anyone recomend in Milwaukee area.

Check out Capt.Mike Fuys. 630-341-0550. Holds a class at bass pro I belive. I took his course 4 years ago. 3 weekends nd you done

You may find it easier to get if you take the class. Also get the Masters 100 Ton upgrade. ...not just a six pack. That way in the future if you want to captain a larger boat you can. Larger may not be that much bigger just more than six passengers.... 8... 10..

If your looking to learn alot, and enjoy the class. Gary also looks out for all his students, Takes the time to ensure nearly a 95% success rate. The guy is funny, and turns what could be dull, into a extremely fun class. He is one of the few that give a "USCG" test, which means he can teach you practical information, not overload you. And direct you in the right direction for stuff geared at a super advanced level.

2 thumbs up. He also will help you with the liecensure process, which in my opinion is more difficult then the 56 hr class and test. The USCG requires alot of stuff to get your actual licenses.
