Started out on sun morn the 14th. Only one other rig in the municipal launch lot when we put in. Water temps were 38 and one flood gate was fully open with another open about 1/3 way. Heavy wind with rain and snow made for a difficult day to say the least. Not a bite any where. fished shallow flats in less than 2' to deeper channels of 10-12'. Fished jig/minnow, bait rigs, and husky jerks. Mon brought more stable weather, slowly rising waters (noticed the second gate was open to about 1/2 making it a combined 1 1/2 gates open) with temps still 38-39 but moving faster with more debris. Fished several places up near the dam/plant with no hits. Only a few shorts observed being netted. moved down near skibba slough where we promptly boated three keepers, 17, 17, and 19.75 all males and a small handful of shorts that were released. All but the 19+ were caught on minnow rigs tight to the bottom in 12' of water. Tues came and so did rising FAST water. All three gates wide open with water flowing over the top of the entire length of the dam (dont know if those are adjustable). water temps fell back to 36-37 with a lot more debris. fished a few eddys and relatively slower water areas up near the dam with neg results. moved all the way down to Chester creek hitting spot after spot working back north without a single hit all day. Saw only 2 fish caught later in the day around 5 pm one was released (short) and one was kept. waters on the way but take that with a grain of salt.

A big thanks to the guys in Toyota tundra pulling the hot new ranger who gave us a jump in the ramp lot. Much appreciated!

Good luck and be safe with the faster rising waters.
