I have a mercury 9.9 el which has no centering straps. I would like to disconnect it from my optimax when running the big motor. What has anyone found that works well to keep the kicker from flopping around. After market part? Home fix? Pics and ideas are greatly appreciated.

I used a Bracket Pro on mine, before I got the Pro Kicker. Prior to that, I just used a bungy cord to keep it from flopping side to side. Tried to cinch it down tight, but that resulted in a broken motor mount, repaired after day one of the Merc Nats in 03.

RangerPat used a Ram Mount on his tiller handle with the Panther lift to keep his secure. Worked very well.
